FocusMicro's hardware team evaluates literally hundreds of components and subsystems annually, testing for compatibility, measuring performance capabilities and developing configuration matrices. Environmental issues such as heat, noise, durability, power consumption and footprint are all assessed and measured for suitability for task. Interoperability of systems, communication protocols and MTBF data are all evaluated and statistically integrated to insure that FocusMicro security systems will function in the widest range of environments and integrate with the broadest possible types of customer embedded equipment.

FocusMicro's software development team has developed a formidable reputation in the security industry for delivering innovative and imaginative products that excel in usability, features, compatibility and reliability.

Groundbreaking by all standards, the new VideoBankT operating software is more powerful and even easier to operate as the user interface on FocusMicro's line of Digital Video Servers. The logical layout and placement of tools and functions require only a brief orientation for users to become immediately comfortable and productive in the Digital Video environment. Central StationT remote monitoring software is a perfect compliment to the VideoBank operating software, providing powerful remote monitoring capabilities. Data events from multiple dissimilar security systems can be stored and cataloged, indexed against the Digital Video recording. Complex logic options can be defined for events. These options result in a wide array of reactions to events, including alert popup screens, remote/redirected video storage and personnel notifications. Central StationT is the perfect remote monitoring tool for both passive and active monitoring solutions.

The innovative Evidence Producer is a powerful post-production tool that can organize and label crucial still images extracted from a digital video sequence. Enabled with advanced image enhancement tools, Evidence Producer delivers concrete, admissible evidence of criminal events.

FocusMicro software engineers are also at the forefront of database engineering and analysis with the new Watch GuardT data manager. Watch GuardT can capture data from a wide variety of sources, including digital video server events, access control system triggers, intrusion detection alarms, point-of-sale transactions and many others. The powerful Watch GuardT software allows security personnel to quickly scan and identify events, match similar events and collate dissimilar events into a cohesive scenario.

Recognizing that while there were many good quality cameras and lenses available for security installations, FocusMicro saw that there was also a need for better imaging products in the marketplace. Working with some of the top optics and camera manufacturers in the world, FocusMicro engineers brought to market in 2003 a new line of cameras and lenses that set new standards in both environmental and price/performance features. Able to deliver crisp and clear images in extremely low light conditions, the all weather units are economically suitable for indoor applications as well.

The FocusMicro R&D team is currently working to expand upon our product line of cameras and lenses with even greater features in the areas of low light performance, higher resolution and miniaturization.

More than any other field within the security industry, the ability of dissimilar security systems to integrate with each other is becoming paramount to security organizations. FocusMicro's Research and Development team develops integration solutions for customers that allow data marking and sharing between Digital CCTV and a wide variety of fire, intrusion, point-of-sale, transaction and maintenance systems. Once integrated, sophisticated FocusMicro data analysis tools can be used to develop operating patterns from what was previously thought to be random occurrences.
