Field Service Security Technician

A Field Service Security Technician is responsible for service and/or installation of large commercial integrated electronic security systems. Such systems would include but not be limited to Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion/perimeter Detection, Intercom Systems and Exterior Panic Systems.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Service, installation and troubleshooting of advanced systems based on industry standard guidelines
• Installation of software and configuration of complex access control systems
• Follow-through of projects from job mobilization to project completion – which could include job documentation, training, close-out documentation and system commissioning
• Provide guidance to other FocusMicro technicians with installation and routine maintenance issues
• Provide advanced customer training for proper system usage. Respond to customer technical inquiries for products to ensure customer confidence/satisfaction and provide customer education while at customer location.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-4 years in installation and/or maintenance of electronic commercial security
• Recognized manufacturer certifications of one or more access control systems a plus.
• Recognized manufacturer certification of one or more CCTV/digital video recording equipment a plus
• Recognized manufacturer certification of one or more intrusion detection systems a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid State driver’s license with good driving record and without restrictions; reliable vehicle to use for work purposes with valid vehicle insurance.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of basic electricity, electronics and construction
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computers
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with customers
• Ability to interact in a professional manner with office personnel
• Ability to travel when required, work beyond standard working hours when required, and participate in an on-call schedule
• Ability to self-motivate without supervision
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Ability to lift 75 pounds, unassisted, use standard tools, perform work on ladders up to 14 feet and on lifts up to 40 feet
• Clean professional appearance
• Willingness to learn and continue to grow in the security industry
