History

Like many successful business ventures, FocusMicro was founded not because of "some great opportunity" or based upon a series of "focus group" meetings or brainstorming sessions. In actuality, FocusMicro was founded for a much more basic reason: to satisfy a need.

In 1998, a group of successful Seattle based entrepreneurs, including Chief Executive Officer Ken Rhule and Chief Financial Officer Bill White, while searching for a company to provide security solutions for their retail operations, were surprised at the lack of quality systems integrators within the security marketplace.

Dissatisfied with the lack of quality integrators offering creative, service based solutions, the group leveraged their extensive IT and business backgrounds and started to explore the security marketplace. After extensive review of the dealer network in place, it became apparent that the security market was lacking an integration company based upon sound Information Technology fundamentals, a central management philosophy and a national service and installation capability.

FocusMicro, Inc. was founded in 1999 determined to be the best nationally capable, technology based, commercial security integrator in the market. FocusMicro began solidifying its position of technical dominance in the Commercial CCTV, Card Access, Fire and Burglar marketplace over the course of the next several years. Most of the company's emphasis was placed on driving the leading edge of technology while delivering powerful, reliable and easy to use products to national retail organizations.

In response to customer demand, FocusMicro carefully added to its infrastructure and began to offer customers additional services such as System Design, Consulting, Engineering, turnkey project management, Maintenance & Repair, Monitoring and a broad array of training courses. FocusMicro also adopted a policy that minimized the use of subcontractors, preferring instead to guarantee quality by utilizing its own technical experts at jobsites throughout the country.

Today, FocusMicro has matured into a complete Low Voltage solutions provider. It has developed its staff of management and employees to the point that the company can deliver a complete, integrated turnkey, Low Voltage solution of any size or scope anywhere in the United States.
